Stress and Sleep… It’s All About Balance

Did you know that lack of  sleep causes the hormone stimulating our appetite to increase while decreasing the hormone saying you’re full.  So when you are tired do you ever notice that you tend to eat more? Did you also know that stress and lack of sleep negatively affect our immune system? Just remember, we are very intricately wired and it’s really all about finding a balance in our lives to make us function and be our best.

What can you do to improve your sleep? Try the following:

  • Sleep 8 hours per night
  • Limit caffeine (especially at night)
  • Try to not eat after 7pm
  • Have a regular bedtime and waking up routine
  • Exercise regularly
  • And lastly the obvious but maybe most difficult is to minimize screen time before bed.
